The internal trays are perfectly sized for reasonable portions of an entree and two sides and I don't have to worry about the contents mixing or shifting on my way to work. I can pack any mix of hot/cold food items - just lift out the inserts that hold the hot food items and microwave them separately. You can further subdivide the compartments with silicon cupcake liners, if you like a lot of variety in your meal. This is great if you like to pack bento-style lunches.
This has never leaked in my purse, which is a HUGE plus. It is so much more convenient than packing multiple tupperware or ziploc containers/bags. One star off because I've noticed that after a couple rounds in the microwave, the edges of the inserts are bowing and warping a bit and they no longer fit snugly in the outside container. But that won't stop me from using it or buying another one for backup.
