(More customer reviews)Purchased a new home in late April of 2010. Since that time, this microwave has filled the kitchen with smoke a number of times and we have been without a functioning microwave for 2 of the 6 months we've lived in our new home. The required part to repair the microwave is on backorder with no predicted date of availability. Viking is refusing to replace the microwave and offers nothing in return for our inconvenience. While all microwaves may be made by Sharp, the company that stands behind (or refuses to) the product they sell you is more important... in this regard, Viking is an epic failure. Additionally, the refrigerator water dispenser sticks often and we've been told to "use smaller glasses, it is a bad design that will not work with large glasses." The freezer also drips water onto the floor every time it is opened and although it has been serviced twice, the problem remains. Viking has told us flat out, the microwave will not be replaced, while at the same time they refuse to provide a date when they expect it to be fixed. I have never been less satisfied with an appliance than I am with each of these viking appliances, and it pains me that I know hidden in the cost of our home was the exorbitant cost of these appliances as the standard kit. I would not wish Viking appliances on my worst enemy, as that would only keep this horrible company in business longer.

Viking introduced professional cooking to the home when their first range shipped in 1987. Now that same exceptional performance extends into every corner of the kitchen - even the backyard. Refrigerators. Wine Cellars. Dishwashers. Grills. Cookware. Cutlery. Small appliances. It's enough to turn any cook into a chef. A New Premium Line For A New Market Viking Range Corporation has become an icon. As the creator of professional performance for the home, their brand identity is tied to the ultra-premium market. When consumers imagine their dream kitchen, they undoubtley picture the bold, heavy-duty Professional appliances. That is brand identity. And that is brand strength. But Viking also wants to tap into the much larger premium market. So how does Viking enter that arena without taking the entire Viking brand down-market? The new Viking Designer Series creates the opportunity to effectively compete in the premium market, with the freedom to adapt their brand identity to suit the premium consumer: slightly younger, slightly less affluent but still appreciates the aura and performance of Viking. Viking Designer offers Viking performance with subtle, contemporary styling and standard sizes. More importantly, it presents lower price points without diluting the premier image of the Viking brand. The new Viking Designer Series makes sense in today's economy. Viking microwave provides an array of powerful settings. In addition to an extra-large capacity, the DMOS also offers exceptional features like warm/hold and sensor cooking.
