(More customer reviews)Per a Consumer Reports recommendation, I bought this model just over 6 months ago in the fall of 09. The turntable stopped working before December. Two repair calls later the motor and arm had been replaced (under warranty) and it worked again. That is until now when the same problem happened again. This time I noticed that the arm has black marks where it broke from the motor. Could this have caught on fire? I hope this is not a common problem but as I've used reviews on Amazon myself before purchasing, I thought I'd share my experience with this Microwave (Whirlpool Gold GT4175SPQ).

(More customer reviews)I recently purshased this set and have had real problems trying to get the lids to 'snap' on.
The majority of the lids alMOST fit, which is somewhat frustrating in itself. I've tried pressing, pushing, popping, and even putting all my weight on the lids without success. Swearing didn't help the lids fit any better, either. No surprise...it seldom does. I even tried pliers to try to snap the lid on the oval piece. Only succeeded in breaking the lid. The aforementioned swearing rapidly graduated to cursing, although no hair cuttings, nail clippings, hatpin-stuck small dolls, nor sacrificial small animals were involved. And, the lid STILL didn't pop onto the cookware.
You just have to marvel at how the lids can come sooooo CLOSE to fitting...but, just absolutely refuse to go that extra hair's width to make the seal.
NordicWare....WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH THOSE LIDS???!!!!
The lid issue aside, I've used the cookware frequently for storing leftovers in the fridge and for microwave reheating of same, and the cookware works fine. It cleans up well, and it looks nice.
There, I've said something positive.
But, again...NordicWare....WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH THOSE LIDS???!!!!

MICROWAVE CAVITY PAINT 98QBP0302 Review

(More customer reviews)My daughter had a GE microwave/oven combo. The microwave had the infamous GE flaking paint interior problem. The cost of replacing the integrated units to correct the microwave was very steep. So I bought a can of this paint to see if it would work.
To my amazement, it did! Now it wasn't easy, I had to degrease the inside of the oven (TSP), then sand it by hand and some machine for about an hour to get all the base paint solid. I used PaintStriper sanding blocks, 60 and 100 grit, the followed up with some 150 grit paper. Then I had to mask the oven opening with masking tape, paper, and a cheap plastic tarp to beware of overspray.
Pro - Followed the directions on the can, and sprayed away! It worked and is still holding up 3 weeks later. So about $35 in material has, so far, stopped a very expensive (hundreds of dollars) oven replacement.
Cons - The paint is acetone based so ventilation is a MUST . Pick a day when doors and windows can be open and I would get the kids out of the house. The paint does dry very fast in about an hour.

GE WB15X321 Microwave Oven Door Handle Review

(More customer reviews)This is the second time that I have had to replace this handle on my GE over-the-counter microwave. It is a poor design in that it fits into the door with cylindrical nipples tapped for screws that go through the door from the inside. The screws penetrate only as far as the depth of the nipple, and stress on the nipple (especially the bottom one) from repeated opening of the door causes it to break off. A longer screw design, one that would penetrate further into the handle would help, I believe. Also, this time around, when the bottom nipple broke (as it did the first time around), I fashioned a longer screw from stock hardware in my workroom and also stuck a piece of strong double-stick pliable tape to each of the flat ridges just inside each nipple, and REVERSED the broken handle so that the good nipple would be on the bottom, where more stress is applied. The tape helped the handle adhere to the door and relieved some of the stress on the nipples. So far, this fix has held well for several days. In the meantime, my new replacement handle arrived today, and I will wait until the mended one breaks before installing this new one.
So, I rate this 5 stars because it fits, and it is the only replacement available. Also, because the vendor's price was the lowest that I could find anywhere, and the shipment was fast. On the other hand, I would rate it only 2 stars AT MOST for its poor design and resultantly poor durability.

Prior to the purchase we were concerned if the there'd be enough room for our microwave, it turned out to fit perfectly. We are very happy with the finished product. In our opinion it's very stylish and complements the decor of our kitchen.

(More customer reviews)The only reason I gave them 1 star is because 0 stars was not an option. I bought these to replace 25 watt bulbs in my GE microwave. These supposed 40 watt bulbs turned out to be dimmer than the 25 watt bulbs I wanted to replace. I found no evidence that they were actually GE bulbs other than a GE part number on the box they came in. The bulbs darkened as soon as I turned them on voiding the return policy of unused bulbs. Be prepared to pay for shipping if you return them.

Hamilton Beach 43253 Ensemble 12-Cup Coffeemaker with Glass Carafe, Red Review

(More customer reviews)We had no need for a new coffee pot. The free one from Gevelia was working just fine. However, on a recent trip to K-mart we caught this one on sale for just under 40 bucks, and it's RED! We've slowly been building up a counter top of red kitchen appliances, so the coffee maker fits right in!
Easy to clean! The mouth of the pitcher is as wide as the base, so it's easy to get your hand inside to clean it out unlike some. Few buttons, so it's easy to program too. Very light weight, so it's also easy to move the maker around if needed. No complaints about speed either. I never feel like I'm waiting on it to finish. One small complaint, but it's nothing major...there is no room for going over the 12 cup limit. It will overflow! Some makers have a little room for you to overfill, but not this one! No biggie, just don't overfill!
I also like the wide karaff on this one. A lot of pitchers have a weird karaff that always causes you to spill a few drops when pouring that first cup. Not this one! Clean up of the coffee ground chamber is easy too. I suggest investing in one of those permanent copper reusable filters. They work really well with this one. I have yet to end up with grounds in the coffee.
